In one sentence
Tilefold is a sliding tile puzzle with three rule sets, five board sizes, a daily puzzle for everyone and hand-built etudes – free, with no ads.
In a paragraph
Slide the tiles – they all move at once, and equal ones merge into one. Tilefold takes that simple rule further: powers of three, where three tiles merge, and Fibonacci, where neighbours in the sequence do. Boards range from 3×3 to 7×7, each with its own record and leaderboard. Every day brings one puzzle that is the same for every player, with a single attempt, and a link lets you challenge a friend on your exact board. Etudes are set positions with a goal and a move limit – 84 of them in seven chapters, each with an exact solution. Hints suggest a move when you’re stuck, and game review finds the move where a game went wrong. Everything runs on the device and works offline.
What sets it apart
- Three rule sets that change how you read the board, not just its numbers.
- Etudes: puzzles with no new tiles and an exact, solver-checked solution.
- A daily puzzle with one attempt for everyone, playable straight from a link through an App Clip.
- Game review that replays your game on the device and points to the move that cost it.
- Eight palettes, each checked so the numbers on every tile stay readable.
New in 2.3
Etudes – 84 puzzles in seven chapters – and a free etude of the day. After a miss the game can replay the solution; a solved etude of the day can be shared as a card and appears in the widget and in Shortcuts. A daily puzzle reminder can be turned on in Settings.
